Business Development | St Louis, MO

Palatium Auction©eers is seeking a business development professional for our St Louis office.

Job Summary:

This person’s role is to support the growth of Palatium Auctions® by acting as business relationship manager and having skill sets in the following areas: 

Participate in business development related processes

Pro-actively seek out, target, and initiate contact with major prospective customers within assigned markets 

Qualify and assess targeted accounts

The individual will be responsible for generating potential new business by developing relationships with Corporate CFO's, estate and trust bankers, attorneys, asset managers, museum professionals and private collectors and B2B clients.

A successful candidate should be a self-starter and highly motivated person to help continue the growth of our office in St Louis. This person will report directly to the Director of Regional Offices.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, interpersonal, administrative and sales skills in order to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients and colleagues. In addition, candidates should have a strong understanding of our business, auctions and business development. The ideal candidate will minimally have a bachelor's degree in a related field and have at least five years of experience within the auction or Assset Liquidation industry or an arts related field.

Social Media Communications Director | St. Louis, MO |

OUR OPPORTUNITY:

Palatium Auctions® and Liquidations is seeking a Social Media Communication Director that will be responsible for developing and executing strategic social media initiatives, including developing and managing marketing campaigns, interacting with customers and fans in real time on various social media platforms, and integrating interactive media into the overall business strategy. Other duties include writing blog posts, monitoring brand reputation, and analyzing social media results and their impact on the company brand and sales.

Goals: Make Palatium Auctions® the most preferred Regional Auction Site in the St Louis, MO by building a loyal online community. You will attract new customers to Palatium Auctions®, market the auctions to the public, deepen customer engagement and help increase customer loyalty, promote products and brands, help grow the email database using social media initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Develop and implement Social Media strategies/initiatives to support and align with marketing programs and brand building goals.
• Serve as community manager: develop engaging written and graphic content, moderate daily posts, write editorial content, develop and implement promotions and giveaways.
• Develop and maintain social media content calendar for Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Google +, Instagram, and YouTube.
• Explore new & emerging platforms for future consideration.
• Develop and maintain blogger partnerships to further brand awareness and development.
• Track and measure success of social media campaigns & strategies; review results and make recommendations for modifications. 
• Monitor and analyze competitors’ online presences and consumer perceptions.
• Monitor trends in social media channels; appropriately apply that knowledge to increase the effectiveness of social media efforts.

Required Skills and Competencies:
• e-Commerce experience is required.
• Must have expert knowledge of social media platforms.
• Excellent written skills a must (to write blog articles).
• Excellent verbal skills.
• Experience with photography and video production a plus.
• Ability to work independently and utilize sound judgment.
• Software expertise – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop.

Qualifications:
• 4 year College degree in Communication, Marketing or other related field.
• At least 3 years experience in social media, digital marketing, managing multiple social media platforms.

Specialist/Cataloguer - All Departments | St. Louis, MO

Seeking to hire experienced specialists in all departments. Specialists are primarily responsible for cataloguing consigned property, researching authenticity and provenance, and reviewing client inquiries to determine sale potential. In addition to cataloguing property, this position also works with a team of specialists and account executives to coordinate auctions throughout the year. This includes developing the layout of the sale, assisting with catalogue production, setting up exhibitions, preparing condition reports, and working the auction and preview.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, interpersonal and administrative skills, be able to work in a fast paced environment and have a strong attention to detail. A bachelor’s degree in art history or a related field is required along with at least 2 years of experience in the auction or appraisal industry.

Internships | St Louis, MO

Palatium Auctioneers offers junior and senior level undergraduate students and graduate students unpaid spring, summer and fall internships. Successful candidates will be placed in positions according to their backgrounds and interests and will gain first-hand experience in auction house operations.
