Estate Planning and Settlement
Palatium Auctions® will assist personal clients, executors and fiduciaries in the area of estate planning or settlement by appraising and quantifying all aspects of personal property. Should a sale be considered, Palatium offers a comprehensive marketing plan along with dedicated specialists to manage the project. We offer many options for our clients, including live and online auctions, seller protected reserved, buy it now and timed reverse auction sales.
Our goal is to get the highest price for our client. This is why we practice compensated cooperation where we proactively share fees 100 percent with outside brokers that bring registered buyers. Our distribution channel for assets is the entire auction community. That’s the key to driving up the value of the assets. When assets get maximum exposure, the market place becomes more competitive. This delivers more bidding, causing sell prices to increase which benefits the Seller client.
The entire staff at Palatium Auctions® will work conscientiously toward realizing the greatest return on your consignments.
The Difference between an Auction Estimate and an Appraisal
An appraisal is a formal valuation generally used for estate, tax, insurance, charitable contribution or loan purposes. An auction estimate is the price range that our specialists feel your particular item will bring at auction (e.g. $500-700).
All appraisals are prepared in conformity with and are subject to the standards and requirements set forth in the National Auctioneers Association, NAA, Code of Ethics and Graduate Personal Property Appraiser GPPA Report Writing Standard. In addition, appraisals are required to conform to The Appraisal Foundation's Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
The IRS now requires an appraisal for non cash charitable contributions in excess of $5000. Such appraisals must be completed by an appraiser with a designation from a recognized professional appraiser organization such as NAA or by a specialist in the area being appraised. Consultations and Brokerage services available.
